We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Newport, Kentucky visiting Todd's dad Ed and his wife Carol. Our friends Glenn and Shannon drove down from Columbus with their beautiful little girl Ella too. It was fun to see everyone and to pick Shannon's brain about baby stuff.
Last week I had an ultrasound to determine if the placenta was still covering the cervix and it's not! It moved just like the doctor thought it would. What a relief. Unfortunately we didn't get a really good look at the baby because she was passed out face down - again! Something about ultrasounds really knocks her out. We got a couple good looks at her profile though and she's definitely filling out and looking pretty cute (not so much like our little alien angel baby from the first ultrasound - thank god!).
I finally went in for the gestational diabetes screening earlier this week. I couldn't put it off any longer. Hopefully I'll pass because I do not want to drink anymore of that nasty glucose drink for the second round of testing. Yuck.
Here's a current picture of the belly. All of a sudden I've become quite large. A stranger asked me the other day if I was expecting a Christmas baby! I wasn't quite sure how to take that and I actually lied to her about my due date because I became so self-conscious. Pretty silly, I know...

You're beautiful! I love your growing belly. Isn't it the best being pregnant?
Yeah, just ignore those crazy folks. People kept telling me the same thing about having a big belly - if you remember - they said I was going to have the BIGGEST BABY EVER! Just about made me cry. Everyone has too many opinions to share!
So happy to hear you and baby are doing well. Have a wonderful christmas. I am sure the baby will get lots of presents even though she hasn't arrived yet :-) Happy early birthday too! Okay, my post is long enough.
Yes, I've been waiting for a post for weeks!!! Apology accepted :)
You're not getting big, the baby is. Keep that in mind. So easy to be self conscious though, with the hormones, the bloating everywhere! My skin got all blotchy too which I'm still dealing with. What we do for our babies. I think you look perfect. It makes me so happy seeing you pregnant. It's such an amazing experience.
Keep the updates coming. Even if it's a one-liner. "Baby girl Youngs got the hiccups today."
OMG! You FINALLY put a new post up...you can't leave your far-away friends hanging like this, woman!! The belly is awesome!
Someone once told me that she loved being pregnant because it was the only time that she could carry her baby and still have both arms free. She ended up with five! You look beautiful and healthy and YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO GAIN WEIGHT! Can't wait to see you in two weeks.
Gorgeous...simply gorgeous. You can tell it's all baby - you look absolutley perfect!
People asked me stuff like that way early too. I started saying "What do you mean 'when am I due?'"
lovelovelove
And that glucose stuff is yucky.
