sump pumps

To be honest, I didn't even know what a sump pump was before we moved into this house.  But after this past weekend I can fully appreciate what they do and especially what they don't do when your power is out!  We were without power for almost two days and our back room flooded.  Just when we thought the whole living room was about to go under we got a generator - the last one in town - and the sump pumps kicked in.  Thank goodness.
We managed to have a good time despite the circumstances.  Our friends came over and we played games and drank beer by candlelight.  What else is there to do when the power is out?

Always exciting living in a flood plain...
Yikes!
Anna managed to stay warm.

Oh my! We seriously need a sump pump at our place too, the land is very flat and wet. And being in the country, the power goes out really easily and nobody fixes it for days!!! Luckily, we already have a generator and have used it multiple times for the same reason.

Time to go boarding, heh? Must have all been snow up there!

Water front property in California!

Pictures tell the story. I never imagined that it was that bad but you certainly seemed to make the best of a bad situation. Good for you.

Sump pumps or no sump pumps, it sure didn't rain on her parade!
